Half Moon Bay High Community Cougar
In 2008, we are started a new Cougar Football tradition called the “Community Cougar”. Each game week our players will get together and choose a person (teacher, administrator, parent or anyone in the community) that has helped support them in some way; be it academically, athletically, emotionally, etc.
That week, the Community Cougar is invited to any practice/meeting/ “behind the scenes look” they would like to attend. They would be guest of honor at our team dinner Thursday night and then invited down to our sideline during the game. We'll also give them a long sleeve black shirt with "Community Cougar" on the back to wear at the games.
This is our way to recognize a few of the many people that support and encourage our kids.
2010 Recipients
Week 12: 2005 CCS Championship Team
Week 11: Mike Hallgren
Week 10: Sean and Travis Donavan - The Donovan Brothers were the highest bidders at the Cougar Casino for "Be a Community Cougar", and being true Cougar alumnus, they chose Terra Nova as their game. Sean is a father of four, married to Shannon Deeney, another HMBHS alumni, and a Pop Warner Coach. Sean was also on the 1990 Championship football team. Travis works for the Cabrillo Unified School District at the high school. We are honored to have them in this crucial week!
Week 9: Steve Bacich - Mr. Bacich is the new Cougar Booster President. Since his start last spring, Steve has put in hundreds of hours working to promote and support all HMBHS athletics. He and his wife, Karen, have really taken the fundraising of our athletics to the next level. The future looks bright on Cougar Hill thanks to all their support.
Week 8: Audrey Seaton - Audrey is our team mom and also mother to Nate #15,
and Neal #64 Seaton. She does so much more us and coastside football. Thank you!

The runners "torture" known as Cougar Hill behind the high school was actually Carter Hill named for her father.
Week 4: Cameron Palmer - The only two time winner! Cameron is an HMB alumnus. For years, Cameron has supported Cougar Football, Coastside Football, and many other high school programs.
He's graciously donated his restaurant for our team dinners, year after year.
