The varsity football team got their league season off to a good start on Friday afternoon with a 36-27 win over the Menlo School Knights. The Cougars scored early on the first of 4 Chase Hofmann touchdowns to take an 8-0 lead. The Knights answered to cut the score to 8-6. As it turned out that was as close as the game would get, as the Cougars' defense shutdown the Menlo passing game. HMB scored again in the 1st quarter on Hofmann's second TD and held a 15-6 lead at the half. In the 3rd quarter Hofmann added two more touchdowns and HMB had a 29-6 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Jake Quosig scored a TD in the 4th quarter to build a 36-6 lead. The Knights battled back in the 4th with 3 scores as HMB got everybody into the game, but could not overcome the defecit as the Cougars easily won the game to improve their record to 5-0, 1-0.

A big thank you goes out to our awesome principal John Nazar for being this week's Community Cougar. Mr. Nazar spent a lot of time with our team this week and is always a presence on our sidelines during the games, both home and away.
Please help our program in congratulating this week's Community Cougar, math teacher, Sara DeSantis. Ms. DeSantis has many of our football players in her Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 classes at HMBHS. This school year, Ms. DeSantis is volunteering her time to help our football players in math during their weekly study hall. We appreciate all that Ms. DeSantis does for HMBHS and HMB Football.
