The Cougars Keep Rolling with 49–28 Win Over Sacred Heart Prep!
The Cougars continued their undefeated start Friday night with another impressive road performance, defeating Sacred Heart Prep 49–28. The Cougars jumped out to a 14–0 first-quarter lead and scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters before adding another touchdown in the fourth.
Luke Pimentel had a remarkable night, rushing for 132 yards and six touchdowns on 16 carries! Pimentel found the end zone twice in the opening quarter, added another touchdown in the second, scored twice more in the third and capped his night with a sixth touchdown in the fourth quarter. Joedoln Flores also had a big night on the ground, rushing for 102 yards on 20 carries.
The Cougars were dominant on the ground as a team, finishing with an incredible 405 rushing yards and 427 total yards of offense while picking up 27 first downs. The Cougars converted 10 of 14 third downs and was a perfect 2-for-2 on fourth down. Anthony Frediani accounted for the Cougars' other touchdown, hauling in an 11-yard touchdown pass from Paxton Holden in the second quarter.
On the other side of the ball, the Cougar defense came up with some important stops and forced two Sacred Heart Prep fumbles. Riley Jackson helped lead the defensive effort with a sack and two tackles for loss, while Auggie Lujan recorded six tackles and two assists and Lane Miller added five tackles and eight assists.
With the 49–28 victory, the Cougars improve to 4–0 on the season and have now scored 175 points through their first four games!

Molly is the parent to standout linebacker, Lane Miller, as well as Cougar alum Brady and Owen. Molly has her hands on everything related to Cougar football and has for years. Although Molly is in charge of communications, organizes our team meals, and puts together our travel snack bags, that is not all that she does. She takes ownership of the program and literally helps with anything and everything. As this is her youngest son’s senior year, we’d like to thank her for her selflessness and years of dedication to this program.
JV Football Comes Back to Win!
The JV Football Team drove 70+ yards, late in the 4th Quarter, to win the game over Sacred Heart Prep, 30-29. HMB built a 24-15 lead at the start of the 4th, but SHP scored 2-quick Touchdowns to take the lead. Then the Cougars began their 70 yard march capped by Tristan Reilly 1 yard TD run and a huge QB Sack by Camden Crowell on SHP’s last possession.
The Cougar Offense ran over SHP’s Defense. Brody Barton led all rushers with 119 yards and scored on an extra point. He also had 6 Tackles on Defense. Wyatt Gunning (161 total yards) rushed for 84 yards, had 77 yards of KOR yards, scored a Touchdown and ran for an extra point. He also had 4 tackles on defense. Manny Hernandez scored 2-Touchdowns, an extra point and ran for 61 yards. Manny had 4-Tackles on Defense. Quarterback Tristan Reilly scored on a 1-yard TD for the Cougars in the 4th Qt.
Camden Crowell knocked down a Pass, had 14 - Tackles, and 2-Sacks of the Quarterback, one of which helped seal the victory. Misael Buenfill-Diaz and Anthony Salazar each had 4-Tackles. Jack Meldrum knocked down 2-passes and had 2-tackles.
